Bill Maher on 'born-again booty callers': Who do you have to blow to get thrown out of Congress?

Real Time host Bill Maher complained on Friday that seemingly no personal scandal could stop conservative "born-again booty callers" from being re-elected this November.

"My question is, who do you have to blow to get thrown out of Congress?" Maher asked, before suggesting a "political science experiment" in which an acting lawmaker kill someone on live television to see if that would hurt their re-election chances.

"Really -- let's have a congressman commit cold-blooded murder on camera, then get up and say, 'Yes, I've made a mistake -- I killed a drifter just to arouse myself sexually, but this election isn't about killing grifters. It's about working families, with my wife Jenny on one side and Jesus on the other,'" Maher proposed. "And he'd win."

The new definition of insanity, Maher argued, should be that nearly every member of a Congress with a historically-low approval rating would win another term in office.

"Only 14 percent of voters say Congress has done anything to improve their lives," Maher explained. "And yet reporters keep finding people who voted against Obamacare, but are on Obamacare and love it."

Meanwhile, Maher said, "bad boys" like Rep. Vance McAllister (R-LA) are still running, despite being shown on security footage kissing a staff member who is not his wife.

"Look at this -- his tongue is forming an exploratory committee," Maher quipped. "That's not kissing, that's fracking."
