Black Georgia police officer fired for dating a white cop: Lawsuit

A black police officer, Karone Robinson, said that he faced a massive backlash from his colleagues after he shared that he was in an interracial relationship with one of the officers, reported WSBTV.

He said it was the "lowest point of his life." He said in a lawsuit against the station that he was fired as a result of the relationship.

“[It was] extremely depressing, that was the lowest point I have ever been in my entire life,” he told WSBTV.

Robinson worked in Darien, Georgia drug cop and was promoted to full-time drug investigator. He said the officers started to treat him differently once his relationship was made public.

"It was one day I’m the best thing since sliced bread, and the next day I can’t walk and chew bubble gum. I can’t do anything right,” Robinson said.

He added that there were signs in the office that he ignored, such as a Nazi flag that hung in the building.

“I totally blocked the flag out. It had been there for so long,” he said.
