Lauren Boebert intervened as son called 911 to say dad was 'throwing him around the house': report

According to a report from Insider, one of Rep. Lauren Boebert's four sons called 911 in tears to report that his furious father was "throwing him around the house."

Moments later, the Colorado Republican, who recently filed for divorce from her husband, Jayson, after nearly two decades, reportedly took the phone from the son, who was not identified in the report, and told the operator her son "doesn't need help," the report said.

Insider states that the phone call was made in December of 2022, with the teen "sobbing, gasping for air," and telling the operator, "He called me a psycho, when he's the ....," before tailing off.

Asked if he was in danger and if there were weapons in the home, he responded, "I mean there are weapons in the house, yeah, but I don't think he'd use them on me. He just does this to me so much," before adding, "I'm in the driveway, but my mom's staying down at the farmhouse because there's problems with them. I'm going down there where he can't get to me."

Five minutes later he called back again, with Insider reporting there was a woman heard yelling in the background as he told the dispatcher, "All I wanted to say was is me and my dad were starting to yell, he didn't really get physical with me," at which point the congresswoman jumped on the phone with, "Hi, I'm the mom. Okay, there was an argument over dinner. I understand you guys got to come and talk to them. I'm down at our second location with [our son] getting ready for an event. Just to let you know, I have him. His dad's at the house."

She then added it was okay to dispatch officers to talk to her husband.

The report adds, "In a police log from the incident, an officer reported that Jayson Boebert said he got into a verbal argument with his son and told him to go to the farmhouse to be with Boebert. He said he didn't hurt him but 'maybe the door touched his butt on the way out,' according to the log. The boy, too, told the officer 'he started yelling at his dad first and his dad wasn't physical.'"

In a statement to Insider, the Colorado Republican claimed, "The safety and well-being of my family are the most important things in the world to me. We've had some tough times and heartache. I've taken action to ensure there are better days ahead for all of us."
