Breitbart.com alum Dana Loesch suing website for release from contract and $75K

Conservative radio host and former Bretibart.com columnist Dana Loesch filed suit against the website on Friday demanding an end to her contract and $75,000 in damages.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the host of "The Dana Show" alleges that her relationship with now-deceased Andrew Breitbart's media organization Breitbart.com LLC has gone "tragically awry," but that provisions of her contract are keeping her from being able to leave the company, resulting in "indentured servitude in limbo."

Loesch's suit maintains that ideological differences with Breitbart's successors as well as logistical difficulties of holding together a crumbling "media 'empire'" in the wake of the right-wing provocateur's sudden death earlier this year have contributed to an "increasingly hostile" work environment. When Loesch tried to terminate her relationship with Breitbart.com in September, she said, the company refused and extended her contract by another year.

The website refuses to carry her writing, she claims, but "sabotages" her attempts to publish it elsewhere.

Earlier this year, Loesch gained notoriety when she said on CNN that she supported the desecration of Taliban corpses by U.S. Marines who filmed themselves urinating on the bodies of enemy combatants. She has also engaged in a high-profile spat with journalist Martin Bashir, of MSNBC, whom she deemed a "foreigner" who is unfit to cover U.S. news.

In November, the media watchdog group Media Matters congratulated CNN for keeping Loesch off the air for three months.
