Teen MAGA rioter released from jail ahead of trial after fellow prisoner slugged him in the face

A Trump-loving teenager who was arrested for participating at the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol building has been released from prison ahead of his trial after getting punched by a fellow inmate.

Via The Daily Beast, Bruno Cua on Wednesday was ordered released to the custody of his mother after he was apparently slugged in the face during his brief stint in prison after being arrested last month.

"During his stay in an Oklahoma jail, Cua's lawyer said he was hit across the face and threatened by a fellow inmate -- an assault that was one of the factors that prompted his release," reports The Daily Beast.

Randolph D. Moss, a United States District Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, wrote in his decision to release Cua that there were strong arguments in favor of keeping him in custody, and he noted that Cua's social media posts in the wake of the Capitol riot showed no remorse and instead sought to justify violence against the government.

"Cua's violent social media posts and messages are disquieting, to put it mildly, particularly when viewed alongside his actions on January 6," Moss wrote. "The Court is granting Cua pretrial release only by the slimmest of margins, guided by the default rule favoring liberty."
