BUSTED: Ivanka Trump caught in a lie over Kushner security clearance approval after bombshell NYT report

The bombshell New York Times report on President Donald Trump giving son-in-law and White House senior advisor Jared Kushner top-secret security clearance is a major blow to the credibility of Ivanka Trump.

"President Trump ordered his chief of staff to grant his son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, a top-secret security clearance last year, overruling concerns flagged by intelligence officials and the White House’s top lawyer," The Timesreported, based on four sources.

Both the then-White House chief of staff John Kelly and the then-White House counsel Don McGahn were overruled -- and both reportedly wrote contemporaneous memos to memorialize the events.

"Trump’s decision in May so troubled senior administration officials that at least one, the White House chief of staff at the time, John F. Kelly, wrote a contemporaneous internal memo about how he had been “ordered” to give Mr. Kushner the top-secret clearance," The Times reported. "The White House counsel at the time, Donald F. McGahn II, also wrote an internal memo outlining the concerns that had been raised about Mr. Kushner — including by the C.I.A. — and how Mr. McGahn had recommended that he not be given a top-secret clearance."

The report by The New York Times directly contradicts claims by first daughter and White House senior advisor Ivanka Trump.

Three weeks ago, Ivanka was interviewed by ABC's Abby Huntsman, who is the daughter of Trump's ambassador to Russia.

Ivanka was asked if she and her husband received "special treatment" when they were finally granted security clearances.

“Absolutely not," Ivanka Trump replied. "There were anonymous leaks about there being issues."

"But the president had no involvement pertaining to my clearance or my husband's clearance, zero," she claimed.

House Democrats are said they will investigate the security clearance process in the Trump administration.
