'Change the law yourself assh*le': Internet unloads on Trump for blaming child separation policy on Dems

During his Monday morning Twitter rant, President Donald Trump attempted to shirk the blame for his administration's widely-criticized policy that separates parents and children detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

"Children are being used by some of the worst criminals on earth as a means to enter our country," the president tweeted. "Has anyone been looking at the Crime taking place south of the border. It is historic, with some countries the most dangerous places in the world. Not going to happen in the U.S."

Switching gears, Trump tweeted "CHANGE THE LAWS!" in all caps, an apparent jab at congressional Democrats that he later clarified in a subsequent tweet that included a misspelling of the term "border."

"It is the Democrats fault for being weak and ineffective with Boarder [sic] Security and Crime. Tell them to start thinking about the people devastated by Crime coming from illegal immigration," the president tweeted before once again imploring Congress to "change the laws!"

Twitter immediately ran with the president's tweets, unloading their criticism on his deflection about a policy enacted by his attorney general.

"They don't have to change the law," national security lawyer Bradley P. Moss tweeted. "The law doesn't require this policy."

Tom Namako of BuzzFeed News, meanwhile, noted that the tweet came "from a Republican in the White House whose party has control over both chambers of Congress."

"This gibberish makes no sense," another user tweeted. "This defines how Trump thinks, a mish-mash of false narratives, shallow populism, inarticulate persecution, and dimly understood concepts wrapped in random ideology."
