Trump lawyer jokes with fraud trial judge that he’d ‘like to be fired’: report

Donald Trump’s lead attorney in his $250 million civil court trial joked with the judge Thursday that he’d “like to be fired,” according to a new report.

Chris Kise made the quip when Judge Arthur Engoron asked why he had not yet led questioning of any defense witnesses, according to ABC News.

It was not the former reality television host and U.S. president's "You're fired" catchphrase that inspired the off-beat banter between courtroom adversaries, but a sports analogy, the report notes.

Kise likened himself to Jimbo Fisher, the Texas A&M coach who reportedly received a record buyout after his job was terminated.

"I'd like to be fired from my job," Kise reportedly laughed, "and collecting $77 million."

Replied Engoron, according to ABC News: "I'll see if I can arrange that.”
