CNN reporter banned from Trump speech -- because he didn't like her questions

CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins was in the Oval Office Wednesday morning when the European Union president was available for a photo opportunity. The White House's Bill Shine and Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Collins that her questions were inappropriate and as such she would be blocked from covering the Rose Garden ceremony.

Collins was a "pool reporter" today, meaning she was selected to be at meetings and shout out questions and give details about what was said and done. She's not merely there as a CNN reporter, rather she represents the entire press pool.

The questions she asked can be heard on the video.

"Did Michael Cohen betray you?" she shouted out along with other reporters.

"Are you worried about what Michael Cohen was going to say to prosecutors?" was another question.

"Are you worried about what is on the other tapes?" Collins also asked.

She then turned to ask about Russia, questioning "why Vladimir Putin [is] not accepting your invitation?"

Formal complaints are now being filed by CNN against the White House for barring the network.

The president has had a beef with CNN for years.

In a discussion with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) noted that it is something heard about in totalitarian regimes, not in the United States.

Fox News host Bret Baier said during his show that he and the network stand with CNN on the issue of press access.
