CNN’s April Ryan says Trump is 'frantic' because Manafort trial has 'tentacles leading to Russia'

On CNN Wednesday, news anchor Brooke Baldwin called out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for doubling down on the falsehood that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is invalid because of the Christopher Steele dossier.

"It was started by a dirty, discredited dossier," Sanders claimed, falsely asserting that oppositional research on Donald Trump is the basis for Mueller's probe into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Baldwin didn't pull any punches in setting the record straight.

"False! It is categorically false," Baldwin asserted. "A reminder: the investigation was triggered by Russia attacking our democracy in the 2016 Presidential election."

She went on to note that President's Trump's Twitter feed seemed more extreme today, suggesting he might be getting nervous about the Mueller probe.

"When you look at Trump's Twitter feed today. Something is clearly freaking him out," Baldwin told CNN reporter April Ryan.

"You're absolutely right Brooke, he is very upset. This President is putting his emotions on Twitter."

"This Manafort trial is making them frantic. They don't understand ... it's toxic."

She pointed out that even though Manafort is on trial for financial crimes there are "still tentacles leading to Russia."
