CNN's Don Lemon explains why you should 'rethink your friendships' because of politics

On Friday, CNN's Don Lemon said that there are some scenarios where his viewers political values should separate them from friends.

While chatting with CNN's Chris Cuomo, Lemon said that he was not thrilled about the latest drama happening between White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and her husband George Conway.

George Conway has spoken out about his dislike for President Donald Trump, and said he would rather move to Australia than vote for Trump in 2020.

"I don't really care honestly," Lemon said. "This is not politics. this is about right versus wrong."

Lemon said that if you disagree on fundamental values it could be hard to have a relationship with certain people.

"We could have a disagreement of opinions on things, but if disagreement on the fundamentals, what is right, what is wrong, what is true, what is false, what is reality versus what's not reality, what is a fact versus an alternative fact. If you disagree on those things, I can't even be friends with someone like that."

"If your friend is espousing policies that are detrimental to women, to gay people, to minorities, whatever, and is on the wrong side of history and seen as racist and on and on, then I think you need to rethink your friendship."
