Cohen attorneys granted ten extra days to review documents seized by Mueller investigators: report

Lawyers for the embattled former attorney to President Donald Trump have been granted an extra ten days to review documents seized from his home and his office by federal investigators, reports Bloomberg.

The attorneys for Michael Cohen, who will reportedly be stepping down as Cohen's legal counsel following the review of the documents, have been hard-pressed to go through the more than 292,000 contested items and more than 1 million items “not designated privileged or highly personal” by June 15.

According to the report, Barbara Jones, the retired judge selected to oversee the document review process, submitted a recommendation to the judge overseeing the case, setting a new deadline of June 25.

Jones cited the "substantial progress and diligent effort" of Cohen’s team and other lawyers in the case in her recommendation.

Attorneys for the Justice Department did not contest the decision.
