Cohen testifies Trump’s ‘whole family’ could have been 'compromised' by Russia during the campaign

Michael Cohen on Wednesday conceded that President Donald Trump's "whole family" was likely in bed with Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign during public testimony to the House Oversight Committee.

Cohen was responding to questioning by Congresswoman Deborah Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) who served as DNC chair during the 2016 campaign, in which she hoped to "connect more of these dots" between President Trump, Russia, and Wikileaks after the DNC was hacked.

"Is it your testimony that Mr. Trump had advanced knowledge of the Russia Wikileaks release of the DNC's e-mails," Wasserman Schultz asked.

"I cannot answer that in a yes or no," Cohen replied. "He had advanced notice that there was going to be a dump of e-mails, but at no time did I hear the specificity of what those e-mails were going to be."

"Did Mr. Trump likely share this information with his daughter Ivanka, son Don Jr., or Jared Kushner?"

"I'm not aware of that," Cohen replied.

"Was Ivanka, Jared, or Don. Jr. still involved in the Russian tower deal at that time?" Wasserman Schultz continued.

"The company was involved in the deal, which meant that the family was involved in the deal," Cohen answered.

"If Mr. Trump, and his daughter Ivanka, and son Don Jr. are involved in the Russian Trump Tower deal," Wasserman Schultz asked, "is it possible the whole family is conflicted or compromised with a foreign adversary in the months before the election?"

"Yes," replied Cohen.

"Knowing how Mr. Trump operates with his winning at all costs mentality, do you believe he would cooperate or collude with a foreign power to win the presidency?" asked Wasserman Schultz.

"Mr. Trump is all about winning," Cohen replied after hesitating. "He will do what is necessary to win."
