Colbert hilariously mocks Trump’s EPA pick: It's like appointing Joe Camel to be Surgeon General

President-Elect Donald Trump continues to appoint people to his cabinet but the whole process is a little disgusting for "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert.

The comedian noted that watching Trump pick people is "like watching your nana get a sponge bath; you know it has to be done, but it's upsetting."

Wednesday, , a climate denier who, many say, is in the pocket of the oil and gas industry.

He's a "sworn enemy of the EPA, to be the head of the -- what's the word? The EPA," Colbert said. "I would change my phone number, or else he's going to get some pretty angry calls from himself. There is a trend of Trump appointing people to head things they're against. I'm looking forward to Surgeon General Joe Camel."

Colbert wondered how on Earth Pruitt is going to work out as head of the EPA.

"Well, he's repeatedly 'explained that he thinks the states are in the best position to regulate local industries,'" Colbert read. "Makes sense. If Missouri dumps chemicals into the Mississippi River, they just tell those chemicals, 'Remember, you stop at the Arkansas state line! You're on your honor, OK? No further!
