Colorado GOP claims someone hacked their Twitter account to post anti-Trump tweet

A spokesperson for the Colorado GOP claimed someone gained "unauthorized access" to their Twitter account, and posted a anti-Trump message following results showing Texas Senator Ted Cruz's victory in the state over the New Yorker late Saturday.

Cruz swept up all 13 of the delegates in Colorado on Saturday to complete a clean sweep of the state. Delegates endorsed by his campaign took seven spots at the Congressional District conventions held over the last week as well, which added another 21 delegates.

Following the announcement of the results, a tweet from the Colorado GOP account went out reading: "We did it. #Never Trump."

The #NeverTrump campaign is the work of Republican activists who fear the party will be devastated if the New York developer is the party's presidential nominee in November.

The tweet was swiftly pulled down after being shared thousands of times online.

It was replaced by one reading, “The last tweet was the result of unauthorized access to our account and in no way represents the opinion of the party. We are investigating.”

The Twitter account, with over 6,000 followers, has been silent since then.
