Authorities in Colorado Springs have arrested a licensed minister who allegedly impregnated a 14-year-old, KKTV News reports.
Romello Leach, 22, was arrested on multiple felony counts for Sexual Assault on a Child, Pattern of Abuse.
An employee at the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center came forward after the young teen was taken there by her mother, resulting in a months-long investigation by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit.
"Leach is associated with several churches who regularly meet at the Satellite Hotel, located at 411 Lakewood Circle in Colorado Springs," the department noted. "He has had access to an unknown number of children/teens and we are seeking information on anyone who may have been victimized by him in the past and not reported it."
Police are worried there are additional victims.
"He had access to so many given his position and the number of churches he was involved in," EPSO spokesperson Jacqueline Kirby told KKTV. "It's very disheartening; as a parent, I'll tell you, you go to church and you would think that's one of the places you're safe from predators ... unfortunately, we've seen that that's not the case."
KKTV reports Leach allegedly admitted he impregnated a 14-year-old during a phone call with his ex-wife that authorities recorded.
"So you didn't sleep with that girl and get her pregnant?" his ex-wife questioned.
"It happened," Leach allegedly replied.
Leach allegedly admitted he made a mistake, but claimed it was "not like he will go around and sleep with everybody's 13 or 14-year-old daughter."
