Columbia professor reveals eerie similarities between Trump supporters' fan art and North Korean propaganda

Patrick Chovanec, an adjunct professor at the Columbia School for International Affairs, recently found himself struck by a piece of Donald Trump fan art created by a Trump supporter.

Writing on Twitter, Chovanec posted the painting -- which depicts Trump holding up a light to help guide a boat of Trump administration officials through the "swamp" of Washington, D.C. -- and remarked that "the last time I saw a painting like this was in an official art gallery in Pyongyang."

To show that he wasn't even "remotely kidding" about this, Chovanec proceeded to post photos he'd taken while in North Korea that depicted the late leader Kim Jong-Il walking among his people.

"Some of the cringe-worthy Kim Jong-il paintings I saw in North Korea, not unlike the adulatory Trump propaganda portraits I've seen circulating lately," he explains.
