Stan Lee, the legendary creator of some of Marvel Comics' most popular characters, has died at the age of 95, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, an ambulance "rushed to Lee's Hollywood Hills home early Monday morning and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center," where he passed away shortly afterward. Lee had suffered from numerous health problems over the last year, including pneumonia.
Lee, a longtime writer for several Marvel series, was responsible for co-creating Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk, among many others.
As Marvel has grown into a movie powerhouse over the past two decades, Lee has made multiple cameos in Marvel movies.
Lee's daughter, J.C. Lee, paid tribute to her father in an interview with TMZ.
"My father loved all of his fans," she said. "He was the greatest, most decent man."
