Conservatives blame ‘gay mafia thugs’ after bakery that refused to make cake for lesbians shuts down

The bakery that refused to make a cake for a lesbian wedding in 2013 announced on Thursday that it is officially shutting down. In a Facebook post, Sweet Cakes by Melissa wrote, "We have closed Sweet Cakes. We appreciate everyone's continued prayer and support!"

After declining to serve Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer for their wedding, the Christian bakery in Gresham, Oregon ended up facing a lawsuit in April 2015. The lawsuit resulted in the owners, Aaron and Melissa Klein having to pay $135,000 in damages because they discriminated against the couple, the Oregonian reported.

Mic reports that the Kleins were able to crowdsource the money through GoFundMe and a Christian donation platform called Continue to Give, and raised approximately $460,000.

However, the bakery is closing for good three years later, no thanks to the so-called "Homofascist Mob" and the "Gay Mafia."

According to Charisma News, a Christian media company, the bakery was shut down because the Kleins were bullied by "left-wing bigots" — otherwise known as the Homofascists — because they refused to "violate their conscience" and bake a cake for the Bowman-Cryer's wedding.

Red State took it to another level and pointed fingers at the "anti-Christian, pro-LGBT Gay Mafia" who "literally" ran the company out of business. Literally.

It gets better. The "Gay Mafia thugs" are out there apparently working "on behalf of the LGBT radicals" to push forward what can only be called an "anti-American agenda," according to the Red State. Who knew?

There seems to be a lot of things that are anti-American these days: gay rights, racial justice, feminism, undocumented immigrants. I digress.

The Klein's attorney, Hiram Sasser told Patriot Post, "We are continuing our appeal and look forward to achieving justice for them and all people of faith who may find themselves in similar circumstances in the future."
