Cops say two more shootings related to Philly campaign worker gunned down after speaking to politician

Police in Philadelphia say the shooting of two men late Sunday -- with one of them dying -- was in retaliation for the execution murder of man minutes after he spoke with a candidate for the Pennsylvania house.

Sunday afternoon an unidentified 21-year-old man was shot and killed after he spoke with Democratic candidate Chris Rabb who is running to represent the 200th District in the state capitol. According to Philly.com, the man had just spoken to Rabb about volunteering on election day and was still clutching campaign literature when another man walked up and shot him in back of the head.

"The [victim] had been shot, execution-style, blood gushing everywhere," said Chris Visco, Rabb's campaign manager. "Chris is devastated."

Addressing the shooting, Rabb remembered the young man as being excited about the upcoming election.

"He was enthusiastic about the political process," said Rabb, who is an adjunct professor at Temple University's Fox School of Business

"This impressed us and we were in the process of encouraging him to join our campaign," Rabb added. "Moments after he gave us his contact information he was murdered."

Hours later in the same neighborhood, police say an 18-year-old man was shot in the back and a 17-year-old man was grazed by a bullet in a drive-by shooting in what police say is retaliation, saying all three shootings appear to gang-related.

"We do believe this is retaliation," said Commissioner Richard Ross.

The 18-year-old was taken to a hospital where he later died.
