Fani Willis gets election challenge from MAGA attorney who may have met with fake electors

Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis will have two challengers — including an election-denying Republican — in her campaign for re-election.

Courtney Kramer, who describes herself on Instagram as a "MAGA attorney," entered the race Friday as a Republican, joining Willis and Democratic challenger Christian Wise Smith, and the top two vote-getters will advance to the general election in the so-called jungle primary, reported CBS News.

"As a lawyer myself, it's disgusting to see her not follow her rules of professional conduct or take her oath of office seriously," said Kramer, who previously interned at the Office of White House Counsel during the Trump administration. "It's a disgrace to the legal community."

Fulton County judge Scott McAfee is considering whether to remove Willis from the criminal case against Donald Trump, who was indicted with 18 co-defendants in the Georgia election subversion case that has already resulted in four guilty pleas, over her personal relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Kramer played an active role in the Georgia election challenge by helping to assemble interviews and affidavits ahead of a Dec. 4, 2020, election challenge filed by Trump allies, according to Republican lawyer Cleta Mitchell's testimony to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection.

According to Mitchell's testimony, Kramer worked alongside Tea Party Patriots founder Jenny Beth Martin, whose group sponsored a pre-insurrection rally in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021.

Kramer played an active role Trump's plot to overturn his Georgia election loss, according to Widener Law Commonwealth professor Quinn Yeargain, who said he attended law school with her.

"She was actively involved in the plot to steal Georgia, which she helpfully documented in real time by posting it on her Instagram," Yeargain posted on X. "Here’s a picture of her in the room where the fake electors met."

The law professor shared a screenshot of the meeting, but the photo quality was not clear enough to verify Kramer was present.

Three of the Trump electors who submitted phony paperwork – David Shafer, Shawn Still and Cathy Latham – were charged alongside the former president in Willis' investigation.
