Speaking on The Daily Beast Podcast, Toobin explained that the Court lacks enforcement power and relies on the other branches to respect its authority — a norm he suggested Trump is increasingly willing to sidestep. With major rulings looming that could constrain Trump’s agenda, including limits on unilateral tariffs, Toobin cautioned that the administration has already shown it can maneuver around court decisions in ways that leave the judiciary effectively powerless.
