President Donald Trump has spent much of his Monday angrily attacking former ally Omarosa Manigault-Newman -- and now he's been reduced to promoting the claims of another ex-ally to attack the validity of her new book, called "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of Trump's White House."
In between tweets attacking his former aide for being a "lowlife" and "not very smart," Trump also retweeted former "fixer" Michael Cohen, who disputed a specific claim in Omarosa's book on Sunday.
"To the many dozens of journalists who called me, questioning Omarosa claim in her new book that President Donald Trump took a note from me, put it in his mouth and ate it... I saw NO such thing and am shocked anyone would take this seriously," Cohen wrote.
Trump's promotion of Cohen comes less than a month after Trump bitterly attacked his former attorney after it was revealed that he secretly recorded Trump discussing hush money payments to a former Playboy model.
"What kind of a lawyer would tape a client?" the president fumed last month. "So sad! Is this a first, never heard of it before? Why was the tape so abruptly terminated (cut) while I was presumably saying positive things? I hear there are other clients and many reporters that are taped - can this be so? Too bad!"
