Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was caught red-handed lying about the FISA warrant taken out on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page during a contentious interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo.
During the interview, Jordan insisted that the dossier compiled by former MI6 spy Christopher Steele was the primary justification used by the FBI to spy on Page.
"The first thing they mentioned in the application was the dossier," Jordan said.
"How do you know it's the first thing in the application -- you read it?" Cuomo asked.
"No," Jordan admitted, although he said that someone who had read the FISA application had told him about it.
Cuomo then pointed out that the FISA warrant against Page kept getting reauthorized, including once by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who was handpicked by President Donald Trump to serve as the Number Two man in the Department of Justice.
Jordan then tried to change the subject back to Christopher Steele, whom he accused of breaking protocol by going to the press and talking about the dossier in the fall of 2016.
"You don't know any of this, Jim!" Cuomo exclaimed. "You didn't even read the application! You're trusting Trey Gowdy, who would rather resign than be a part of this!"
