On Tuesday, President Donald Trump was literally the laughing stock of the world while giving a speech at the United Nations in New York.
However, one diplomatic aide warned that Trump's speech is nothing to laugh at because he echoed the views of Russia president Vladimir Putin.
"He is accepting the Putin view of the world,” Daniel Fried, who served in senior diplomatic roles under the Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama administrations said.
“There is nothing patriotic about diminishing America and turning us into just another grasping, greedy power, like the ones we rejected when America came of age and we realized we had a shot of remaking the world. It’s unpatriotic," Fried told the Daily News.
Fried said that Trump's prideful leadership is no place for the world stage.
“The President’s style, which may appeal to some of his supporters, is not particularly impressive on a world stage,” Fried said. “Get it together, man.”
