Nobody is digging the Democratic National Committee (DNC) dancing after former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson bid adieu to the 2024 presidential race.
The DNC's National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika almost came after Hutchinson like a has-been whose political journey to win the White House croaked long ago.
"This news comes as a shock to those of us who could've sworn he had already dropped out," the official statement reads.

“I congratulate Donald J. Trump for his win last night in Iowa and to the other candidates who competed and garnered delegate support,” Hutchinson said in a statement confirming he was going to step aside. “Today, I am suspending my campaign for President and driving back to Arkansas. My message of being a principled Republican with experience and telling the truth about the current front runner did not sell in Iowa.”
Hutchinson pulls out of what was a crowded field that has since narrowed to the former president leading by a wide margin over former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — all trying to become the 47th president and defeat Democratic incumbent President Joe Biden.
Hutchinson’s exit came one day after he finished sixth in Iowa’s caucuses — including trailing behind well behind Ryan Binkley, a pastor who wasn't able to qualify for any of the GOP debates.
Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann chimed in calling the response classless.
"This is so wrong-headed strategically and in terms of basic decency," he tweeted.
Conservative political commentator Bill Kristol also condemned the salt-on-wound treatment.
"Hey @DNC, I assume you guys want the support in November of that slice of Republicans who admire Asa for being a decent and principled person, and for not bending the knee to Trump," he asked in a tweet. "Or is Biden so far ahead that you don't need every potential crossover vote?"
He ended it with "Your friend, Bill."
And former Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger also called out the DNC gratuitous piling on.
"...@dnc I get that this is the usual game plan, but I have to inform you that Joe Biden will need decent people on the center right," his Twitter/X post reads. "Gratuitous attacks on people like Asa, for no reason (he is zero threat) just makes us shake our head. Just humble advice."
