‘Domestic extremist’ with machine gun in ‘fortified residential compound’ arrested: police

A domestic extremist who claims to be a "sovereign citizen" was arrested in Louisiana on Missouri firearms charges, the Kansas City Starreported Friday.

"Guidry is considered a domestic extremist and is self-identified as a sovereign citizen," Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson revealed. “His ideology is anti local, state and federal government, and he is also a convicted felon.”

Chief Layrisson described Guidry's home as a "fortified residential compound."

"It was surrounded by a six-foot-tall chain-link fence with razor wire at the top," he continued. "Three attack dogs — two German Shepherds and a Belgian Malinois — were running free within the perimeter, there were cameras throughout the structure and roll-down bulletproof metal shutters over every door and window on the house."

"During the course of the investigation, law enforcement officials conducted a search of Phillip Guidry’s fortified residential compound. This search led to the discovery and seizure of an array of firearms, including a suspected illegal fully-automatic rifle," the department said on Facebook. "Guidry was transported and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on the state of Missouri warrant pending further investigation by local, state, and federal authorities."

Chief Layrisson vowed, "there will be additional counts coming."
