Trump posts ominous warning after Sidney Powell plea: 'Never let 2020 happen again'
October 20, 2023
Donald Trump insisted upcoming criminal trials involving himself and others charged with trying to overturn his 2020 election loss would expose evidence of "election rigging" against him.
And he ominously vowed not to let 2020 – a legitimate election that he and his followers have failed to prove rigged – happen again.
The former president and 18 others were charged with racketeering in Fulton County, Georgia, and his former campaign lawyer Sidney Powell became the second to plead guilty Thursday after agreeing to testify in the case one day before she was set to stand trial alongside conservative lawyer Kenneth Chesebro.
"Does anyone notice that the Election Rigging Biden Administration never goes after the Riggers, but only after those that want to catch and expose the Rigging dogs," Trump posted Friday morning on Truth Social. "Massive information and 100% evidence will be made available during the Corrupt Trials started by our Political Opponent. We will never let 2020 happen again. Look at the result, OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED. MAGA!!!"
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Trump is far and away the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner, despite four indictments on 91 counts and being found liable for sexual abuse and business fraud in two other cases, and insurrection-backing Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will stand for a third vote in his bid to become House speaker.
If he's elected, Jordan would potentially hold the speaker's gavel on Jan. 3, 2025, for the congressional certification of the next presidential election.
