Donald Trump was not only a national security concern while he was in office, but he continues to be a thorn in the intelligence community's side "to this day," former FBI agent Peter Strzok said in an interview.
Strzok made an appearance Friday night on MSNBC's Deadline Whitehouse, and was asked if the former president has "always been a national security question or threat." His answer was that he would go "further."
"I'd go even further. I'd say Donald Trump Trump is a counterintelligence nightmare, still to this day," the former FBI agent said Friday. He added that it reminds him of when his kid was a toddler.
"It reminds me of back when all our kids were toddlers and you have to go on a long car ride, and you say, 'Take your little backpack, go to your room, and pick two toys to put in there and bring with you on the road,'" the ex-agent said.
To Trump, Strzok says, the boxes of classified documents were nothing more than "bobbles."
"They are like Shaq's shoe. They are like Mike Tyson's belt. They are something that he has a fascination with and there are huge national security implications that come with that," he said on MSNBC. "It is not a belt, it is not a shoe. It is something that could put someone's life at risk."
