'Coward' prosecutor should have given Hunter Biden 'death sentence': Trump
July 11, 2023
Donald Trump on Tuesday assailed a U.S. attorney he himself appointed in a social media rant in which the former president suggested Hunter Biden should have received the “death sentence.”
Hunter Biden last month pleaded guilty to misdemeanor tax evasion charges and agreed to facts in a gun charge against him in connection with a federal probe conducted by Trump appointee David C. Weiss. The president’s son was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to enter a drug diversion program.
Trump in a post on his Truth Social website called his appointee a “COWARD.”
“Weiss is a COWARD, a smaller version of Bill Barr, who never had the courage to do what everyone knows should have been done,” Trump wrote, suggesting that Hunter Biden committed far more serious crimes for which in the former president’s estimation he escaped justice.
“He gave out a traffic ticket instead of a death sentence,” Trump wrote.
Trump described his own appointee as politically motivated.
“Because of the two Democrat Senators in Delaware, they got to choose and/or approve him. Maybe the judge presiding will have the courage and intellect to break up this cesspool of crime,” Trump wrote.
“The collusion and corruption is beyond description. TWO TIERS OF JUSTICE!”
