Donald Trump accuses Ferguson and Chicago 'gang members' of being undocumented immigrants

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump defended his idea of ending birthright citizenship on Thursday by claiming it would stem what he described as gang-related issues in Chicago, Baltimore and Ferguson, Buzzfeed reported.

"You know, a lot of the gangs that you see — this doesn't hopefully pertain to you guys so much," Trump said in an interview with WAVH-FM. "When you look at Baltimore, when you look at Chicago, Ferguson a lot of these areas. You know, a lot of these gang members are illegal immigrants. They're gonna be gone. We're gonna get them out so fast, out of this country. So fast."

Trump, who is currently leading GOP candidates in the polls, did not provide any evidence for his argument while promoting an upcoming appearance in Mobile, Alabama.

Earlier this week, the candidate clashed with Fox News host Bill O'Reilly after arguing that the 14th Amendment, which ensures that anyone born in the US is a citizen, would not "hold up in court."

"The scholars are all coming out now saying I'm right," Trump insisted on Thursday. "I think I was more lucky than good."
