'That sounds like a cop-out': CNN's Bash calls out Chris Christie for refusing to address Trump's future
In a teaser preview of her longer interview with Chris Christie, CNN host Dana Bash called out the former New Jersey governor for waffling when she asked if either he or Donald Trump would run for president in 2024.
"Oh look, I don't know that he's going to run. I don't know whether I'm going to run," Christie told Bash.
The CNN host continued to press Christie who launched into a long explanation of why he refused to offer even an opinion.
"He's seriously considering it. Let's see what happens when he does. And let's see who he is and what he says and how he conducts himself," Christie replied.
Pressed again the Republican lawmaker shot back, "I'm not going sit here in 2021 and prejudge all this. In 2021, the idea of making predictions for 2024 is folly."
"In all due respect, that sounds like a copout," Bash replied.
"I'm sure you think it's a copout. But you know what, I also know that there's no reason to create tumult in a party that already has a lot of tumult in it," Christie parried.
