CNN's Kasie Hunt showed a supercut video highlighting the "whirlwind" first month of Donald Trump's second presidency.
The president was inaugurated Jan. 20, and he swiftly pardoned all of the Jan. 6 rioters and turned tech billionaire Elon Musk loose on government agencies and the federal workforce.
"Shock and awe, a whirlwind, a firehose – pick your metaphor," Hunt said. "Just a month in, Donald Trump reshaping the presidency and the nation ... So how much can you change in just one month? It turns out the answer is pretty much everything."
The video showed Trump's inaugural speech promising "the golden age of America begins right now" and signing a flurry of executive orders pardoning his supporters who stormed the Capitol and establishing the Department of Government Efficiency, which has infiltrated agencies across government and eliminated thousands of jobs.

"Just four weeks into his second term, president Trump has instituted radical change in nearly every sector of the federal government, and he's doing it with so much speed and so little transparency that it's really hard to convey just how much has been happening," Hunt said. "Since Inauguration Day, Trump has issued over 100 executive actions, many of them making good on campaign promises, resulting in hundreds of Jan. 6 rioters walking free and thousands of federal workers wondering whether they still have a job. At the same time, Trump has redefined America's relationship with its allies, and he's looking to redraw the map."
Trump has proposed retaking control of the Panama Canal, annexing Canada, potentially invading Greenland and developing the Gaza Strip as a luxury resort, and he has proposed a deal to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine by taking perpetual control of half of that nation's resources and infrastructure, while at the same time quoting Napoleon to place himself above the law and musing about running for a constitutionally prohibited third term.
"All of that – just a fraction, honestly, of everything that has been done by the president and this administration so far," Hunt said. "There is one month down, there are 47 to go. Unless, of course, Donald Trump actually follows through on an idea that he has floated lately."
