Donald Trump is citing his score on a routine cognitive test as proof he can solve the North Korea crisis better than Obama

In an interview with Reuters on Wednesday, Donald Trump brought up his score on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment as proof he is mentally capable of solving the escalating North Korea crisis.

According to Reuters, Trump blamed the tensions on the actions of his predecessors, Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and said prior administrations “all realized they were going to have to leave it to a president that scored the highest on tests.”

Trump on Tuesday underwent a medical exam with White House Dr. Ronny Jackson, and reportedly asked the doctor to perform a cognitive test on him. That decision came amid weeks of public speculation over the president’s mental fitness following a slew of shocking reporting in Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury.”

The 10-minute test Jackson performed on Trump is a simple mental assessment that “looks for signs of mild cognitive impairment and/or Alzheimer’s disease,” Reuters reports. Among the challenges, the Montreal Cognitive Assessment asks test takers to identify animals and draw a clock face.

Trump scored 30 out of 30.
