MAGA-friendly retail site lets right-wingers boycott 'progressive' stores for holidays

Donald Trump Jr., his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle and other MAGA-centric celebrities are endorsing an online marketplace that's intended to give conservatives an alternative to retailers whose politics offend them.

The PublicSquare platform is backed by the former president's eldest son and other investors who are betting on conservative backlash to corporations and retailers that promote progressive social policies, reported Axios.

"I don't want to boycott," said Omeed Malik, CEO of Colombier Acquisition Corp., which agreed earlier this year to merge with PublicSquare. "I want to give people choices, so they don't go back to places like Target."

Although PublicSquare says it doesn't endorse political candidates, its products and mission statement is being promoted at town hall-style events by Donald Trump loyalists like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Jim Banks (R-IN), and one of the featured vendors on its website was a coffee company called COVFEFE, which offers "Drain the Swamp Medium Roast" and "MAGA Dark Roast."

"We will NEVER deem or label an opinion, thought or fact as "misinformation," PublicSquare says in its mission statement. "We are a technology company, not the arbiters of truth."

The platform launched in July 2022 and claims to host about 71,000 small businesses and reach 1.6 million customers, and its board includes former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA), failed Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters and former Mike Pence aide Nick Ayers.
