Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) gave a snarky retort Tuesday to Donald Trump after he accused her of destroying evidence of his debunked Jan. 6 defense.
“Seems like someone is starting 2024 hangry,” Cheney said.
Cheney made national headlines — and outraged the former president — late last year when she claimed in her new book “Oath and Honor” that Trump, after the attack on the U.S. Capitol in 2021, stopped eating.
On Tuesday, Cheney once again mocked Trump’s eating habits, this time arguing hunger spurred him to repeat a claim, debunked by the Washington Post, that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused his offer of 10,000 soldiers to defend the Capitol.
Trump also said Cheney, who served as vice-chair of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attacks, destroyed the evidence.

Cheney shared the publicly available evidence presented in the hearings, jeered at Trump's claim and critiqued the style of the Truth Social message.
“Lying about the evidence in all caps won't change the facts,” she wrote. “A public trial will show it all.”
Trump faces criminal charges linked to election interference in Georgia and Washington D.C. In both cases, he pleaded not guilty.
