'How can you top that word?' Trump defends 'foul language' after dropping profanity

Former President Donald Trump took time out of his Pennsylvania rally Friday afternoon to defend an obscenity he hurled as part of an attack on Kamala Harris.

"Every place she's touched has turned to s---. Every single place she's touched," Trump said to cheers from MAGA supporters. "Have to say it. Every place she has touched."

Trump said evangelist Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse, urged him to avoid profanities in his speeches, but mused there isn't a better word to describe American cities.

"He wrote me a letter and he said, 'sir, I love your stories and I love listening to your rallies but could you please — don't use foul language. Your speeches would be even better if you didn't use foul language,'" Trump said Graham wrote him.

But Trump asked his audience, "How can you top that word for what I'm talking about, right? What word? Every place she touches wouldn't be 'nice?' That would be a thud. It would land with a thud. No."

Trump acknowledged Graham is "probably right" about avoiding profanities, and said his wife has echoed the sentiments.

"My wife also — she says please don't use foul language," he said. "But it's hard. You know there's some words that can't be duplicated. They can't. I try but they can't be duplicated.
