'Don't you f*cking dare touch her, 2016': Internet rallies behind Carrie Fisher after heart attack

As a general rule, internet reaction pieces tend to focus solely on outrage, mockery and ridicule; Friday, however, the internet tribe assembled over the devastating news that “Star Wars” legend Carrie Fisher is in critical condition following a “massive” heart attack on a flight from London to LAX.

In a year that gave us President-elect Donald Trump and took from us Prince, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, etc. etc., the internet was quick to wish Fisher a speedy recover. Swapping the typical gleeful smugness for a much more somber tune, users—including members of the Star Wars cast—took to Twitter to wish their favorite sci-fi heroine well:
