President Donald Trump called the demand for documents around the Jeffrey Epstein investigation nothing more than a "Democrat hoax" when speaking from the Oval Office on Wednesday.
However, one legal expert warned that the press conference of Epstein survivors outside of the U.S. Capitol will inspire more survivors to come forward, including those who are unrelated to the Epstein matter. She noted perhaps there might be more new indictments.
MSNBC legal analyst Kristen Gibbons Feden said that it has become clear the Epstein survivors aren't playing around.
"With regard to the legal avenue that we haven't heard, we did hear from a survivor. [They] said, listen, if you guys do not give us the transparency that we are asking for, the transparency that we deserve, the transparency that we need to heal, then we're going to put together our list," noted Gibbons Feden.
She pointed out that if the survivors collect their own list, it "could open up additional legal avenues, legal avenues in the civil justice system, where certain statute of limitations may no longer exist or may be revived. But it also could open up some legal avenues in the criminal justice system. But, of course, the main legal avenue here is the legislative avenue, and that's whether or not this transparency bill can actually be passed, because they need accountability and they deserve to heal."
Epstein was accused of abusing and molesting an untold number of underage girls, and giving the girls to some of his friends to molest.
