Ex-pageant contestant calls out Kellyanne Conway's hypocrisy: Explain why Trump was in the Miss USA dressing room

As reports of sexual abuse, harassment and assault continue to mount against disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, many online have noted the right's relative silence on similar accusations made against then-candidate Donald Trump last year.

One such accusation came from multiple contestants in the Miss USA pageant, which Trump owned for nearly two decades. Five attendees at the 1997 pageant ranging in age from 15 to 19 came forward to allege that Trump barged into their dressing room while they were changing, and another claimed she saw him staring at her and her fellow "naked" contestants in 2000.

In response to Trump's aide and former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway's jeers against former nominee Hillary Clinton about her relationship to Weinstein, 2003's Miss Ohio USA tweeted that she has a question for the president's mouthpiece.

"Can you ask @KellyannePolls why Trump was even in my dressing room at Miss USA?" Candace Smith, the former beauty queen, tweeted.

Though Smith did not compete in the 1997 or 2000 Miss USA pageants, she would have used the same dressing room that the president barged into 20 years ago.

In 2005, Trump boasted on Howard Stern's radio show that he liked to come into the dressing rooms of the pageants he owned.

"No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it," Trump said in the leaked audio. "‘Is everyone OK’? You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that."
