Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City who is working as the criminal defense attorney for President Donald Trump, is telegraphing legal "weakness" according to a former federal prosecutor.
MSNBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner, who worked in the Washington, DC federal prosecutor office with Bob Mueller, joined MSNBC guest host Baratunde Thurston.
Kirshner recounted the legal cliche that a defense attorney pounds on the table when they can't pound the facts or law.
"What we see is a whole lot of table pounding by Mr. Giuliani," he observed.
"When they can't overcome the facts that are against them, they attack law enforcement, they attack the FBI, they attack prosecutors," he explained. "I've had it happen to me many times over the years."
"That is a sign of weakness by Giuliani and company," he concluded.
"The only thing that he is contributing to the dialogue at this time is carbon dioxide," he added.
