Ex-RNC chair Michael Steele explains why Trump’s tax returns are tied to obstruction of justice

Ex-RNC chair Michael Steele gave insight into why people should not look over the

obstruction of justice allegations against President Donald Trump in the Muller investigation.

MSNBC's Ari Melber said it's the tiniest part of the investigation, but could have the biggest impact.

Steele agreed, and said that if people peel back the layers of the obstruction of justice charge, it could link them back to Trump's tax returns, which he has refused to release.

"The money trail and and this piece on obstruction are the things that can really trip up this process for the president, they converge at a  point." Steel said. “That’s why he won't release his corporate tax returns, because it will give us the footprint that we need to follow."
