Ex-WH official: ‘No logical reason’ for Florida GOP to panic over Broward vote count ‘unless they know something we don’t’

Former Clinton White House press secretary Joe Lockhart in a Monday CNN appearance slammed the Florida GOP's allegation of voter fraud in Broward County, saying there was "no logical reason" for their behavior given that the recount so far favored the Republicans.

"I think if you look at the numbers, there is no logical reason why they're reacting this way, unless they know something that we don't know yet about what's gone on in Broward County," Lockhart said. "But the reality is the votes should be counted."

Lockhart added that "the real insidious thing" is President Trump's efforts poison the well.

"He's undermining the legitimacy of elections where he doesn't like the results, and that is a hallmark of a failing democracy," he said. "One of my old bosses famously said 'the fish rots from the head.'"
