FBI arrests California man who quoted Trump while threatening to execute Boston Globe journalists

A California man from Encino has been taken into custody after threatening to execute journalists at the Boston Globe in response to an editorial the paper ran defending the press from attacks by President Donald Trump.

According to tweets by NBC News Investigations reporter Tom Winter, 68-year-old Robert Chain was arrested for the death threats which included calling the Boston paper "the enemy of the people" in multiple phone calls.

In a transcript of one call that was released by the FBI, Chain claims, "You're the enemy of the people, and we're going to kill every f*cking one of you."

"Still there faggot?" he continued. "Alright, why, you going to trace my call? What are you going to do motherf*cker? You ain't going to do sh*t. I'm going to shoot you in the f*cking head, later today at 4 o'clock."

According to WBZ, Chain will be charged with one count of making threatening communications in interstate commerce and is expected to appear in a Los Angeles federal courtroom Thursday afternoon before being transferred to Boston.
