'F*ck you': Director of at-risk LGBTQ youth center tears into vandals who taunted kids with noose

Vandals broke into the Providence Youth Student Movement on Sunday, hanging a noose from the ceiling of the queer support center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Sarath Suong, the executive directory of PrYSM, reported the break-in at the LGBTQ safe space, writing on Facebook, “maybe it was a prank, but IT IS NOT funny."

“I don't think it's a joke, Suong added. “I think we were sent a CLEAR message. But here's our message back: F*CK YOU.”

"You will not intimidate us, you will not steer us away from our mission, you will never dampen our spirit,” Suong wrote. “You have only motivated us even more. We will continue to fight for justice and defend our community, our families, and our people.”

In addition to to hanging a noose in the center, vandals also reportedly stacked chairs on top of one another, rearranged the scissors and rulers and stabbed two knives into a table.

According to its website, PrYSM serves to mobilize queer Southeast Asian youth to “organize collectively for social justice,” offering safe spaces “to advocate for ourselves, support our communities, organize for political empowerment, and build community.”

“PrYSM organizes at the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexual orientation by centering youth, women, queer, and people of color leadership in our campaigns, our organization, and our communities,” the website reads.
