Students at Florida Atlantic University were turned away at the polls on Tuesday after voting officials told them their dorm did not count as their residence.
According to TMZ, the students at the Boca Raton university contacted 866-OUR-VOTE Election Protection and stated that they were not allowed to vote after being told their dorm was considered a hotel
According to one of the students who identified herself as an African-American, they were given a hard time by officials and handed provisional ballots with no gurantee their votes would be counted.
A representative from the Palm Beach County's Supervisor of Elections Office said that the students did have some irregularities with the place of address, but was unaware that dorms weren't considered residences.
