Florida man arrested after refusing to remove Confederate flag hockey mask -- and taunting cops instead

A Florida man who already has a felony conviction in his past was taken into custody after police instructed him to remove a hockey mask painted with a Confederate flag when he was confronted at a rally.

According to the Smoking Gun, Ryan Hawks, 39 was arrested for using a mask to conceal his identity at the rally in front of the Hernando County courthouse.

According to Brooksville Police Department, Hawks was approached by several police officers and informed that wearing the mask was in violation of a local ordinance. Warned a second time that he was breaking the law, police state Hawk replied, "You want me to remove the mask? Good luck with that."

According to the Smoking Gun, Hawks was convicted in 2013 of felony grand theft, received probation, and then violated that probation landing him in jail for nine months. Hawks was working in an Applebee's kitchen at the time of his 2013 arrest.
