Florida police use Taser to subdue runaway llama

An nine-hour police hunt in Florida culminated Saturday morning with officers deploying a Taser against a runaway llama, after the creature escaped its owner and went on the lam.

Deputies in Leon County first got the call about "Scooter" the llama on Friday night just before midnight, according to NBC Miami. Officers were notified to be on the lookout for an escaped llama at the time, but deputies didn't actually catch up to Scooter until the next morning.

Calls about Scooter dribbled in throughout the night before officers finally got their hands on him the next morning just north of Tallahassee, but found that the llama wasn't of the mind to cooperate.

So, they did what anybody equipped with non-lethal weaponry would: they used a Taser on Scooter, threw some rope around his neck and pulled as hard as possible.

Despite the struggle and a bit of a shock, Scooter is home again today and doing fine.

"I've been doing this twenty years and this was the first llama I've ever had to chase," Sgt. Tony Drzewiecki told NBC.
