Former EPA administrator rips Pruitt over his corruption scandals: 'If I were him, I'd prep my resume'

A former administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency said the future does not look optimistic for Scott Pruitt, the current head of the department under President Donald Trump, amid scandalous revelations stemming from him cheaply renting a condo from an oil lobbyist's wife.

"Would [Pruitt] still be in office if he worked for a different president?" CNN host Anderson Cooper asked former EPA administrator and ex-New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman.

"No," the former EPA head replied. "I don't think there's any way. And frankly, if I were he, I'd be preparing my resume and making it look as if this is my decision to leave."

Whitman said that she doesn't see any way out for Pruitt other than resignation or firing because "the president doesn't like members of his cabinet getting A) more press than he does and b) to be under scrutiny like this."

"I'm not sure he's long for this world," the former New Jersey governor said.
