Watch: Uncomfortable silence ensues after 'Fox & Friends' host fact checks GOP senator
December 08, 2023
Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) appeared surprised on Friday when he received a fact check from "Fox & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade.
While appearing on the program, Marshall hyped up the latest purported "bombshell" revelation that Rep. James Comer (R-KY) had dug up about President Joe Biden: Namely, that he received reimbursements from his son's company to repay a loan that he had made his son to purchase a truck.
"I think the smoking gun that people missed is Comer releasing that there was a monthly stipend from one of these shell companies of Hunter's going to Joe Biden!" Marshall relayed excitedly. "Connecting the dots!"
"He said he was paying him back for a truck," Kilmeade responded.
At this point, there was an awkward silence, as Marshall apparently had not considered this piece of information before.
"I'm just telling you what he said," Kilmeade informed him after seeing Marshall had no response.
"But regardless, this smells like a bribe to me!" Marhsall insisted, despite the fact that it's hard to see how Biden would have profited simply from receiving back money that he had lent to his son. "What did Hunter do to earn this money? Uh, nothing at all, and really, this is influence peddling."
